ABOUT US

Covering the Key Concerns of Life.

For You, Your Family, Small Businesses, Non-Profits, and Trusts.

OUR HISTORY

Key Concerns was founded in 1998 by Sue Waterhouse and Barb Grose.  They had varied experience at larger firms, and met and formed a unique partnership that served their clients for almost 20 years.  Sue retired in 2015, and is enjoying her time in sunny Florida, while Barb retired in 2018 and has remained in the Downriver area. Both are trailblazers in an industry that is still only about 7% women.

OUR FUTURE

Erin Shelton and Jennifer Brown are current partners of Key Concerns.  They can help you develop a plan for your individual and small business financial strategies. Whether you're planning for retirement, saving for college for children or grandchildren, or a small business owner that wants to provide benefits to their employees, Key Concerns will develop and maintain an investment strategy that works for you. Throughout it all, Erin and Jennifer are dedicated to being a resource to depend on.

Erin Shelton

Investment Advisor Representative

Erin Shelton is a graduate of the University of Michigan, and spent the first ten years of her career in the non-profit world, working with people with disabilities and being part of the formation of a non-profit that continues to serve people with disabilities.  This work naturally lends itself to the planning world, and she continues to serve on several non-profit boards, including the start-up of Open Book Theatre Company in Trenton. Non-profit work and small businesses have many of the same challenges, and she appreciates working with both.  She also enjoys working with individuals, especially during life transitions. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Trenton Business Association, is an Ambassador for the Southern Wayne County Regional Chamber, and is very active at St. Thomas Lutheran Church on Grosse Ile.

Jennifer Brown
